Exhaust scoops are an important part in the propulsion exhaust systems with an underwater exhaust outlet. While on one hand the underwater exhaust limits the noise and smoke propagation, it on the other hand causes more backpressure. Certainly nowadays, where IMO TIER III rules must be met, a SCR installation needs to be integrated in the exhaust system. The overall backpressure control is therefore essential. A well designed scoop limits the backpressure of the underwater outlet to acceptable values. Our scoops are an integrated part of the complete yacht exhaust system. Our next set of scoops with matching hullflanges is steel ready yet for another Mediterranean superyacht exhaust system refit job!
